j’Vonn davis - FOUNDER & Chief Executive officer

At home J’Vonn Davis is an extraordinary husband and father. At school “Coach Davis” is a hero, confidant, and friend to his students. His desire to help others is indescribable and he goes above and beyond to make sure every child he comes in contact with knows that their future is limitless.

Knowing that his impact needed to be bigger than the classroom Mr. Davis started BUMP Athletics+ which grew into what is now the BUMP Foundation, Inc.  He built a community program where he volunteered his time and money taking kids on college tours, service projects, researching scholarship opportunities, hosting athletic training sessions, mentoring, helping freshman move into college, serving in ministry and so much more. He treasures the lifelong relationships he builds with his students and he will do whatever it takes to place and ensure they stay on the path to a successful future!


ASTASHIA DAVIS - DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Astashia Davis is an Elizabeth City native who is excited about helping the community. Her compassion for others and desire to see everyone succeed makes her an asset to the BUMP team.   She is the proud wife of founder J’Vonn Davis and mother of Wade Davis. She is committed to standing beside her husband as his helpmeet to help him accomplish all that God has planned for him as he pursues his God given purpose.

Astashia has coordinated and participated in various programs geared towards community and family enhancement. In 2012 she received her Bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information System from Elizabeth City State University and is currently leading a very productive and successful database management team. She enjoys spending time with her loved ones and believes she is a living example of how positive influence can help our youth succeed. She desires to use her skills to give back as a way to honor the influential people that have helped her along the way! She believes that “It takes a Village” to raise a child”.

Director of Grants & Funding - Tremaine Kwasikpui

Tremaine Kwasikpui is an energetic, young, aggressive leader in his community. He served as Student Activities Coordinator, Recruiter and Male Mentoring Coordinator for Roanoke-Chowan Community College from November 2008-June 2016. Tremaine is a 2014 Bellwether Finalist for Being Others Support System (B.O.S.S.) Male Mentoring Program. This program is designed to help men matriculate through college and transition to careers. This program has received numerous state grants and has set a standard for other organizations within the area.

Tremaine finished his undergraduate studies in May of 2008 receiving a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Elizabeth City State University. He worked hard to build a career and completed the Master of Entrepreneurship program at Western Carolina University in the fall of 2015. Tremaine has now transitioned to Houston, Texas and currently serves as the Director of Student Activities at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD).

Tremaine started Strictly Business Properties. The mission of the investment company is to provide affordable, energy efficient and high quality rental properties to the constituents of rural areas. He is also a licensed Real Estate Agent in the state of Texas with RE/MAX Signature. Tremaine is married to his College Sweetheart Mrs. Porsha Kwasikpui who is also a Proud Viking. Together they have three children Kaydence, Legend, and Mercy.

 

Director of Academic Advancement - Brookes Davis

Brookes Davis was born and raised in Plymouth, NC. He attended Washington County Schools and is a 2001 Graduate of Plymouth High School. In 2006 he graduated from Elizabeth City State University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. He received his Masters of Science in Forensic Psychology from Walden University in 2018.

Mr. Davis is currently employed as a Multi-systemic Therapist for Uplift Comprehensive Services, helping to reduce the number of youth involved with juvenile justice as well as reduce the number of youth placed outside of the home. He has also worked for GEAR UP as a Coordinator and AVID as a Training Specialist. Both of those roles involved helping to prepare youth for college and post secondary education.

He is a proud member of Rising Moon Masonic Lodge, Roper NC, Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology, and Golden Key International Honor Society. Director of Marketing -Cassidy Lewis

Cassidy Lewis is the Chief Marketing Officer at a regional law firm and founder of The Lewis Marketing Group. Servicing clients nationwide Mrs. Lewis built her organization on strong Christian principals and an unrelenting work ethic. Cassidy received her Business Administration degree from Elizabeth City State University and is currently pursuing her Masters in Digital Marketing and Executive Leadership.

She has worked in every facet of marketing- campaign management, the non-profit sector, public relations, and B2B. She believes these experiences coupled with numerous certifications have molded her into a knowledgeable and robust marketer. In addition to her eventful career, Cassidy is a passionate environmentalist and human rights activist fighting for the environment, lower income communities, and people’s equity. She sits on several local and national boards including: The Urban League of Hampton Roads Young Professionals, Hate Won’t Win, BUMP Athletics, and Global Shapers. Mrs. Lewis is a dedicated wife to her best friend and mommy to the prettiest girl and most active little boy on earth. 

 

Director Community Outreach - Keith Evans

Keith Evans is a resident of Elizabeth city NC and 1990 Graduate of Northeastern High school. He is currently employed as a Portainer Crane Operator for Hampton Roads Shipping Association. After high school he relocated to Durham, NC to attend North Carolina Central University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Concentration in marketing. While living in Durham he met and married his wife of 18 years, and they have 3 sons who he desires to be as good a role for, just as his father was for him.

Before pursuing his career as a Longshoreman he worked as an Operational Assistant Store Manager at Home Depot full time. While living in Durham, North Carolina for over 15 years him and his wife owned and operated a commercial and residential cleaning service. Upon moving back to his hometown to embark on another career in 2005 he started a flag football league to give the young men in the community something to do and a sense of belonging and continuing his entrepreneurship. He sees the BUMP program as a great opportunity for young men to receive positive encouragement.

Director of Athletics - William Walker

Coach William R. Walker, Sr., a native of Elizabeth City, NC, is an experienced football coach with over twenty years of expertise in Athletics and Performance Training. He is a 2006 graduate of Elizabeth City State University with a BS degree in Health and Physical Education, specializing in Aquatics and Fitness. He is also a highly qualified and certified Health and Physical Education/ Strength and Conditioning educator with six years of experience in ECPPS, Chowan County, and Johnston County Public Schools.

As an athlete, he was a four-year starter on the Offensive Line at Northeastern High School and Elizabeth City State University. Additionally, he is an Arena Football Champion with the Rochester Raiders, as well as a former member of the National Gridiron League.
Coach Walker has experience coaching Football at the middle and high school levels, and is also experienced in coaching Track and Field. He is a certified Strength and Conditioning Coach, having earned a plethora of accolades in weight lifting competitions throughout his career. He currently serves as a member of the Clayton High School Football Program, where he specializes with the Defensive Line.

Coach Walker is accompanied through his journey by his wife, Adriane P. Walker, and his three children: William Jr. (JR); Jirah; and Christopher (CJ). He is motivated by his lifelong scripture, found in Philippians 4:13: "I can do ALL THINGS through Christ which strengtheneth me." His unyielding dedication to the youth and community at large is demonstrated through his willingness to sacrifice and serve in leadership, light, and love.
